Hello and welcome to my site. Thanks for taking the time to view my work. I design prints for women’s wear that combine my unique point of view with what’s on trend.
My work finds its influences in the world of fashion and from my life. Inspiration for a new design may begin with research on a new trend or on a walk — where I take photos, press flowers or sketch the patterns that reveal themselves. These images are then cropped, colored, exposed, or layered via digital manipulation. I also often combine hand painting with digital media, which offers a different feel than pure digital design.
The places I’ve lived also guide my designs. Having grown up in Hawaii, the tropics have a special place in my heart and in my work. Years in northern cities like Chicago, New York and now Pittsburgh have provided seasonal climates to draw inspiration from.
I began my career studying fine arts and textile design at the school of the Art Institute of Chicago and The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. I have spent the past 12 years designing prints for women’s wear, accessories and some children’s wear, both in-house and as a freelancer.
